Why do K-pop groups drop music on Monday?

First, the tracking week for major Korean music charts like Circle or Hanteo typically begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. By dropping on Monday this maximizes the chances of higher rankings by the end of the week and the second week of promotions.

The second part of the answer is music shows. Music shows are Tues-Sun evening Korean time:

By dropping on Monday, they can have a full week of promotions on music shows Tues-Sun and boost their scores on the music shows in the second week leading to music show wins. 

These shows feature live performances from various K-pop artists and often include segments where the week's top songs are ranked and awarded. For international viewers, many of these programs are available through official YouTube channels or international broadcasting partners.
